BREAKING NEWS!! SM's suing DBSK!

On the 12th, SM Entertainment filed a lawsuit again the "temporary contract injunction decided by the courts last year."
RECAP: Summer of 2009, Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun of DBSK filed a law suit against SM because of their unfair contracts. They signed a 13-yr contract with SM entertainment when they debuted in 2003. The court, supporting Jaechunsu, decided on October 27th, 2009, that SM Entertainment may no longer interfere with the 3 members' activities. But the decision is not final. Earlier this month, AVEX, DBSK's Japanese management, announced officially that DBSK will pause group activities in Japan indefinitely.
NOW: "According to a SM representative, previously, SM Entertainment has been trying hard to let DBSK continue as a group, which is why they never raised an appeal against the temporary contract injunction that was put in place by the courts. However, the 3 members have been unresponsive towards SM Entertainment’s requests for them to return to activities as DBSK, and they also put a stop to their Japanese activities, causing the group DBSK to be on the brink disbandment, which is why SM Entertainment raised the lawsuit. In the lawsuit filed on the 12th, SM Entertainment raised an appeal against the court’s decision for a temporary injunction of their contracts, which was made in October last year. They also requested confirmation on whether the contracts that the 3 members have with SM Entertainment are still in existence." (asianfanatics.net)
I'm not sure what think anymore. I want DBSK to stay together but not under a slave contract. I really think that all 5 leaving together is the best solution and I am really curious about why Changmin and Yunho decided to stay with SM. Why did SM decide to sue now? Does it have anything to do with Lee Soo Man leaving? What will AVEX do?
The law suits will probably take a long time to resolve, that means the official news of disbandment will not come until after the law suits are resolved (if they will disband). There's still a chance that DBSK will not break I guess. But it's very unlikely since Jaechunsu do not want to have talks with SM any more. Changmin and Yunho leaving seems unlikely. The court decision plays a less important role now in my opinion cuz Jaechunsu are already "free." And pressure from the media and fans will play a bigger role.
I lost my train of thought....... cuz i'm in English class.
I still think Lee Soo man is key. Also the person who first formulated the DBSK project retired from SM (according to this Mnet documentary about DBSK that interviewed the guy). maybe the changes in administration is the cause like some older fan suspected.
As for AVEX........ I do not understand why they would announce that DBSK's Japanese activities are stopping. I mean AVEX no long holds SM stocks therefore the two companies are "breaking." So I highly doubt that SM pressure AVEX into doing so. Is it the members who do not want to continue group activities? or is AVEX just being realistic and realized that the chance of DBSK getting together is very little so AVEX just went ahead and announced that DBSK will not have group activities for a while?

Moving on to less depressing or confusing news.

Lee Yeon Hee and Changmin, both from SM Entertainment, are the 2 leads in "Paradise Meadow." Filming began recently :)

DBSK's Japanese single, 時ヲ止メテ, was named one of the 4 Platinum Gold Albums for March 2010. Platinum Gold means that the album sold more than 250,000 copies.


Press conference for Jaejoong's Twitter drama. The five main actors/actress attended of course and watch the first ep of the drama with fans. Many were surprised by Jaejoong's acting and exclaimed "Is that really Jaejoong oppa?" and "must be a person who looks like Jaejoong!"
Also the reporters asked about the AVEX announcement concerning the pause in DBSK's group activities....... But Jaejoong refused to comment about it.

AHHHH 双生is down!!!????

Oh no, I can't get on my favorite Jaegeng fan site!!! 双生 is down. the websites does not work!!!! This makes me very very very very very mad. It's been down for like 3 days! what happened? 双生 is probably one of the first and most famous Chinese Jaegeng fansite. The creator's name is Su Nan, who is also the author of the most famous Jaegeng fanfic Liu Nian (Fleeting Times). I'm still working on translating that........ sort of lol.

The biggest news from this weekend is focused on Hangeng! He opened the show at the 蒙牛 music award ceremony and won top 10 most influential singers. He gave tribute to many great dancers like MJ, Rain, and etc. The performance is very good. Here's the video, check it out yourself :) The quality is not that great. I found the pics taken by fans better and more pleasant to look at.
Starting with on the red carpet...... he look at ease. Very happy, healthy, and HOT!

He also attended the preview press conference for his new drama on the 12th. He basically said that he's very happy to take part in the drama and couldn't believe that he got the role even after he got the script. He was very nervous at first but filming went on smoothly so he's not as nervous any more. He also thanked the director, other actors/actresses, and fans for their help and support.
Don't forget, the drama starts on the 15th, this THURSDAY!

Last but not least....... my favorite topic.... how did the big 3 in Kpop do in 2009?
First of all, who are the big 3?
answer: SM, JYP, and YG entertainment.
Artists under these companies?
SM: Super Junior, DBSK, BoA, SNSD, SHINee,etc.
YG: Big Bang, 2NE1, etc.
JYP: Wonder Girls, 2 PM, 2 AM, etc.
Their Earnings?
SM: 61.8 Billion won (43.7 billion won in 2008)
YG: 35.6 billion won (18.5 billion won in 2008, 92% increase)
JPY: 10.2 billion won
Net profits?
SM: 9.3 billion won
YG: 7.4 billion won
JYP: -4.7 billion won.

Yes JYP actually lost money because they invested so much in promoting the wonder girls in the U.S.
SM is still #1!!!! With the popularity of Sorry Sorry, Super Girl, Gee/Genies, Ring Ding Dong, and more, SM got to be in first place. Also SJ and DBSK were giving concert tours; SNSD had their first concert as well. I'm curious about 2010...... will SM's revenue drop because of DBSK's problems and Hangeng leaving SJ? Second place is only a little more than 50% of SM so I don't think YG can catch up and be #1 yet.
But I have to say, YG is definitely the smartest of the 3 in terms of "resource use". Even though SM's total revenue(earnings) is soooo much higher, but their net profit is only 2 billion won more than YG. I personally do think that SM do spend a lot of money training new artists and branching into new markets. I mean no one can surpass DBSK's achievements in Japan and SJM's success in China. But sadly, both are going down the drain this year. SM invest a lot of money in training so I guess that's why I've always thought that Jaechunsu should be thankful, even though I cannot blame them for leaving SM due to unfair contracts.

Yunho oppa will appear in J. Rich's newest MV. J. RIch is 3-member R&B group under M.root Entertainment. The female lead in the MV is former girl group Sugar's Park Soo-jin. Preview of the MV will be released on April 12th.
This is the FIRST TIME that YUNHO is appearing in ANOTHER ARTIST'S MV.

Micky Yoochun will also be appearing in Japanese drama Loving You. The drama will be aired starting in June on BeeTV.

1)

Xiah Junsu will be releasing a solo album on May 26. From what I read before, I think Junsu's only releasing a single (not a full album) and it's probably a Japanese single (not Korean). Anyways, May 26th is my mom's bday....... but I don't think she will be happy if I give her a Xiah Junsu album as a present.

Hangeng appeared at his mother's dumpling store in Beijing yesterday a little after 2 PM. 2PM as in 2 in the afternoon, not the Kpop band lol. There are pics, but none of them are that great so I'm not going to post them. From the fan's account, I gather Hangeng was there for a family reunion. His mother, he, and other relatives ate on the second floor.

Preview of the first ep of Jaejoong's Sunao ni Narenakute is out. Some one poured water on Jaejoong's HEAD! and he looked so sad........ his eyes OMG! SO HOT. Even though the video quality's not that great, but we can still see our favorite little Jaejoong's acting :) More specific info about Jaejoong's character also came out. He's not playing a doctor but a medical equipment salesman....... i wonder which is right..........

Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu filmed a commercial together for some Korean store....... The filming took place on the 6th and 7th of April. Guess that's why Jaejoong went back to Korea. And the 3 of them all left for Japan after the filming.... Jaejoong oppa must be really really busy. Please don't over work!
Also SM did not get the right to the name Dong Bang Shin Ki. SM wanted to "buy/copyright" the name so no other company/people/etc can use it, but SM did not get the permission! YAYAY! so Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun oppa can still use the name DBSK if they want to. If SM got the copyright..... then it's not DBSK's name anymore, not Cassi's name anymore, it will be SM's (and SM alone) property. There's no way SM will let Jaechunsu use the name.

Is it me or are there more and more personal pics surfacing on the internet? guess SM use to control it tightly. Also, most of these non official pics are of Jaejoong. AVEX's president, Sunao ni Narenakute's writer, and etc. they all love Jaejoong so much.

Back to my favorite guys :)

I watched Autumn's Concerto twice already. The drama is very good. Ratings were high: even though it did not break Fated to Love You's historical record (10.6), Autumn's Concerto still ranked #1 in the months that it was aired, EP 18 got the highest rating of 8.23. Don't ask me how they calculate these things lol. But unfortunately, the actors did not promote the drama on variety shows very much. I really wanted to see more of Vanness and Ady.


Either way, because of Autumn's Concerto...... Vanness is one of my favorite TW actor/singer. Incase you don't know him, which is impossible, he debuted as a member of TW F4 in Meteor Garden in 2001. He is an ABC (American born Chinese). He temporarily formed a group with Kangta (who was a member of Korean boy band H.O.T.) and together released the album Scandal. Actually I do not know as much about him as some other idols or as much as I want to know about him. He has a twitter, http://twitter.com/VanNessVanwu. He's Christian so a lot of things on his twitter is about God. Now he has his own movie company, clothing brand and store, night club, etc. He's very good friends with Vic (also in TW F4), Xiao Zhu (Show is friends with everyone cuz he's a variety show host), Wang Lee Hom (fellow ABC, most perfect guy on earth), Kangta, 黄立行(Stanley from TW band LA Boys), Elva (TW female singer), Vivian (she's actually Vanness's ex-girlfriend), Ady, Da/Xiao S (two sisters who are very famous as actress and TV show hosts), JJ Lin (MOST famous Singaporean pop singer), and...... surprisingly Super Junior's Siwon!


Because I'm in love with Vanness again, I re-watched some of his MVs and performances especially ones with Kangta. Kangta and Vanness actually performed a few times at SBS's Inkigayo while SJ's Kim Heechul was the host of the show! So when I saw Vanness and Heechul together I was like WOWOWOWOW!!! It's so awkward lol.
As for Siwon and Vanness, I guess Kangta might have introduced them. Also Hangeng may have played a role (but Hangeng and Vanness are not friends). Some fans hypothesized that it's because Vanness and Siwon both love to work out and love God therefore they have more in common than other people. Siwon and Vanness actually attended a model's wedding together (pic below). Apparently they are both friends of that model...... SJ's concerto in TW, of course Vanness was invited by Siwon. Vanness went, but he was late. When Siwon saw Vanness, he took everyone on stage that he's friend Vanness is finally here. Also when SJ played with water guns on stage, Siwon sprayed water all over Vanness. Leeteuk and Eunhyuk even talked about Vanness on Kiss the radio after the Super Show II in TW. The clip is on youtube, but no Eng Sub :(.

And also in December of last year, SJM went to TW for some movie award ceremony thing. Vanness went as well. When Siwon heard that, he found Vanness and they prayed together for SJM before their performance. I will sub the clip and put it on youtube :).
Speaking of Vanness, I think sometimes stars can have a very positive impact on fans. 3 of my favorite Korean and Taiwanese singers/actors are Christian. They are Wang Lee Hom, Vanness Wu, and Choi Siwon! Maybe it's stupid, but some of their messages are getting across to me. I was a Christian and went to a Christian school for 4 years. But for whatever reason, I left God. And as I get older, I'm looking for that peace in mind again. And because of their influence, I'm re-evaluating my faith.


Now my other favorite guy, Kim Jaejoong <3
He will be on some Japanese variety show on April 12th. I guess to promote the drama :)
Therefore, he returned to Japan today after staying in Seoul for like 24 hours. Therefore I can conclude that it's probably for work or lawsuit that he went back to Korea. Because today, Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun left Seoul together. Junsu is probably traveling for his brother's showcase. Jaejoong is still filming the drama. As for Yoochun....... not so sure.




FINALLY, I think i'm caught-up with all the Asian Entertainment News. But I still need to write a review for Autumn's Concerto ;)
