Heaven's Postman

Heaven's Postman is actually a very good movie. The story is sweet, meaningful, and a little weird....... Han Hyojoo's acting is pretty good. I've seen her in Ijamae (with Lee Junki). I think she's better in this movie. Jaejoong's acting is not bad either. At some parts, he looked a little awkward and artificial, but I really loved his eyes.

OK, let me try to organize here.
How about let's start with the plot and story line? Oh before I start, I should mention, I watched a fancam, Chinese sub version. So the quality wasn't the best. English sub version is not out yet.

Jaejoong plays Shin Jaejoon/Yu. (Han Jaejoon is actually Jaejoong's birth name, given by his biological parents. then he was adopted by his current parents and they named him Kim Jaejoong). Jaejoon is a wealthy and not-so-nice person (too typical). Before the story began, he got into a car accident and is in a coma. While his in a coma, his spirit made a deal with god. god agrees to let him stay in a coma and serve as "heaven's postman". There's a special mailbox where people who need to relieve their pain and express their longing to the dead can drop off a letter. Jaejoon's job is to read the letters and help these people move on. At the mailbox, Jaejoon meets Jo Hana/Saki, who comes to drop off a letter. Also, only people who are in pain because they cannot let go of the dead can see Jaejoon.

Jo Hana, played by Han Hyojoo, is a bright and cheerful with no job. She fell in love with a married man, but that man died. She's very angry at the man because he did not tell her that he is married already, so she wrote hateful letters and put them in the mailbox.
Jaejoon is attracted by Hana and invites her to become a Heaven's Postman with him. At first, she does not believe him and thinks that Jaejoon is a ghost. But after confirming with a coffee shop lady who can also see Jaejoon, she believes him and eventually joined his work. They do many good things that helped relieve other's pain. And because of the time with Jaejoon, Hana can slowly let go of her dead lover. Jaejoon and Hana fall in love. But as Hana starts forget her dead lover, she realizes that sometimes she can't see Jaejoon anymore. Jaejoon finally tells her the truth that if she forgets her dead lover she will no longer be able to see him.

On their final mission together, their target is a father who believes that his son hates even till the day his son died. Hana decides to record a fake testament which says that the son has forgiven his father. But Jaejoon, knowing his time is short, reveals the truth. He no longer wants to use lie to comfort other people. The father is angry, and Hana and Jaejoon argue. A few days later, Jaejoon leaves the earth and goes back to face god. Before he left, he leaves a letter to Hana expressing his gratitude and love.

Back into god's office, Jaejoon tells god that he's position is revealed therefore according to their agreement he should die now. But surprisingly, god tells Jaejoon that he can live again because he was able to help people and love. Jaejoon asks god what will happen to his memory as a heaven's postman and what will happen to Hana. god answers that to Jaejoon this will all be a dream and to Hana it's all real. Jaejoon returns to earth and meets Hana again at a post office...

That's a pretty detailed summary of the movie. The only thing I want to add is that, viewers and Hana do not know that only some people can see Jaejoon until more than half way into the movie. Viewers and Hana also do not know that the real Jaejoon is in a coma until the end. About 30-40 min into the movie, Jaejoon has a short, 3-5 sentence conversation with god, only no nows that he is talking to god.

I think Han Hyojoo did a really really good job in the drama. Especially the parts when Hana slowly begins to realize the Jaejoon is a ghost and that she will not be able to see him. Also, there are part, to show that other people can't see Jaejoon, Hyojoo had to act like someone is there and talk/push/etc. someone when in fact there's no one. She did well showing her happiness as well, when she is able to help others.

Jaejoong's character is very cold and generally lacks emotions. He never cried or smiled. For the most part, he's acting is natural. He has a very powerful/emotional/captivating gaze and a very sexy and heart-rending voice. he looked super handsome in the movie lol.

The scenes in the movie are all very pretty, especially the endless grassy hill with one red mailbox. The kiss scene was beautiful too. but I don't want Jaejoong oppa to be kissing some random girl lol. I should make myself clear, I don't mean that I want him to kiss Hangeng oppa, Yunho oppa, or etc. either. There are some scenes/lines that gave me goose-bumps lol. But I think if Jaejoong oppa say stuff like that to me I will be very happy :)

Well, I think overall Heaven's Postman is a good movie!
Jaejoong oppa, fighting!!! Can't wait to see your Japanese drama.

YAYAY!!! Spring Break is here :)
I finally found time to watch Heaven's Postman, which will be on the big screens in Japan on May 29th. The quality of the fancam version is not that great but there are subs now so I'm very happy.

Here comes some important Kpop news.

1) Xiah Junsu's TWIN brother's Official Showcase
Zuno (Kim Junho), DBSK Kim Junsu's twin brother, will have his official singing debut in Beijing on March 28th. Zuno has been on Introducing Star's Friends with Junsu and a few other Chinese shows. Zuno's agency is BIAS. When DBSK's lawsuit surfaced on the web, many netizens believe that Xiah will join Zuno's agency. Of course, these are all just rumors. however, Xiah will be appearing at every single one of Zuno's showcase. Honestly, Zuno, or his agency, needs Junsu to boost Zuno's popularity. Many fans probably will be going to the showcase to see Xiah and not Zuno.

2)
Siwon lost 8kg (almost 18 lbs) in ONE WEEK!!!! That's what he said at a recent interview with High Cut.
I wish I can lose weight like that...... of course I don't want to not eat for like 3 days either.
Other highlights. He said that SJ members support him and gave him advice. Heechul, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, and Shindong especially.
Before Siwon signed his contract with SM, he asked the president of SM entertainment (Lee Soo Man?) whether he could get married while he is under SM or not. WOW! The president replied yes and asked him whether he has someone in mind already. lol, Siwon is so cool and nice. Of course, he quoted Bible verses again during the interview. I love how he is super super open about his religion. He is a very devout Christian and he is not ashamed of it (not that he has a reason to be). His openness and constant proclamation of his faith is very admirable. For his solo performance at SJ's concerts, he sang Casting Crowns Who Am I. Following Changmin who sang Upon This Rock at DBSK's concerts :)

3)
DBSK's With All My Heart will be in a Japanese movie. The movie will be released on September 11th.

4)
森马 (Semir), a famous Chinese brand that hired SJM as its models, is abusing other SM artist's photos?
Well, Kim Jaejoong is definitely on the shirt. Not sure what's going on. A few months ago, Heechul and Changmin's photos appeared on Semir shirts as well.

5)
Preview to Jaejoong's Japanese drama Sunao ni narenakute (Hard to say I love you). The drama is about 5 people who met through Twitter. Jaejoong plays one of the 5. Most sources say that he will be playing a doctor. But I found one that says he will be playing a news reporter so......
Jaegeng side note: they are both turning to acting :) Maybe, just maybe, they will be in a movie together one day!

6)

Lee Junki will be working on a new drama. The title of the drama is Faith. It's a historical drama and Lee Junki will be playing a legendary doctor. So I guess the drama will be similar to Ijamae. I still haven't see his latest drama Hero yet. Guess I really need to watch up.

7)
DBSK will be making appearances in a few magazines and a few Japanese shows in the next 2 months. but none of them are recent stuff. But Changmin's Korean drama and Jaejoong's Japanese drama are both coming out in April. End of this month, Yunho's This Is It Concert.

And Junsu will be attending/performing at Zuno's showcases in China and Japan.
Nothing about Yoochun though.
I'm very happy that they are active again even though not together.

8)
Last but not least, Japanese magazine Anan wants Kim Jaejoong on its cover. This is a good thing right? I don't know where the rumor came from, but netizens are saying that Jaejoong will be shooting nude photographs for the magazine!!!! I'm not sure what exactly is going on. Will update if I find more stuff on this issue :)

Singers to Actors and Actors and Singers

DBSK and SJ members are all doing separate activities for now.

Hangeng appeared on Sohu. Here's a preview with ENG SUB.
The video itself was taken on and off sohu, tudou, and other websites when it first came out. Some fans believe that posting such an interview at this time is bad for Hangeng's lawsuit/image/etc. Everywhere the video was posted, ELF protested and demanded it be taken off. I got to see it before it was taken off and actually saves a copy lol. But after about 24 hrs, the video clip resurfaced on all major websites.
I personally do not agree with ELFs on this one (actually I disagree with them often). Hangeng can decide what is good for himself. Is leaving SM good? Is leaving SJ good? Is going on a interview NOW good? I highly doubt that Sohu would upload the preview of the interview on its website if Hangeng did not agree to it. Plus, it's not like Sohu pressured Hangeng or SM forced Hangeng to go on the show. Hangeng wanted to go himself so I guess he felt ready to talk about all this.

There's this trend in Asia that singers have to act and actors have to sing.
After his big screen debut, Jaejoong will be performing in a Japanese drama. It has been confirmed. He will be playing a doctor. He will be the more handsome doctor ever. I want to find myself a doctor husband like him lol. Anyways, The drama will start airing in April. He's not the main but it's still cool.

Siwon, known as a singer (SJ member), actually debuted as an actor (like Kibum and Heechul of SJ) in 2003. Actually, he was in Dana (The Grace member)'s MV. Then he appeared in 2 dramas and modeled before debuting with SJ in 2005. He is now going back to his "original" occupation. He is the lead actor in Oh My Lady. He plays a super star. Here's the trailer. lol he is a super star.

I'm tired so not gonna comment too much. but Siwon's abs are awesome. Jaejoong's Heaven's Postman (first movie) is out with Chinese Sub. and last but not least, tons of awesome pics from Super Show II in Shanghai can be found http://tieba.baidu.com/f?z=725836525&ct=335544320&lm=0&sc=0&rn=30&tn=baiduPostBrowser&word=superjunior&pn=0.

Super Show II Shanghai

The big news over the weekend is of course Super Junior's Super Show II Concerts in Shanghai. The concert hall and stage are very small in Shanghai so 2 concerts (one on Saturday and one on Sunday) were held. A few weeks ago I wrote that the Shanghai concerts are the lasts of Super Show II, but I was wrong. SJ are holding 2 more concerts in their Super Show II tour. Both are in April. One in Malaysia and the other in the Philippines.
How was the concert?

Many fancam videos can be found on youtube. I will highlight the "important" or "surprising" performances.
1) KISSES!!! Of course, Heechul kissing a man is nothing surprising, but he again expanded that list.
Siwon kissed Heechul! Not a fake kiss either. A cute little peck :).
Heechul kissed Henry during Heechul's Solo performance of Temptation of Sonata. A very typical Heechul kiss. I highly doubt that it's a real kiss. But I have a question about the up-loader's comments in the info section next to the video....... WTF? "Raise from the dead?" and "Siwon couldn't take their crap anymore"????? I do not get it.

2) Instead of SNSD's Gee, Heechul, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Ryeowook performed F(x)'s ~~Chu~~ (they performed Chu at TW as well).

3) Ryeowook's hair is pretty crazy.

4) of course, Hangeng, Kibum, and Kangin were absent. but Kangin's parts in VCR's were not cut out. All of Hangeng's parts except for 3-4 sec in Intro and Sorry Sorry VCR were cut out. Kibum...... I don't think he's in any of them ever. Of course, Heechul opened Sorry Sorry Answer by himself (he should open it with Hangeng), a huge contrast when compared to the interaction between Donghae and Leeteuk right after.

5) Kyuhyun's solo, 原谅我 aka Forgive Me, was amazing as usual! This is old news, but I've never written about it. Some people say that Kyuhyun decided to sing Forgive Me after his comment on his CY world about Hangeng. But honestly, I don't believe in any of that. If it is true, then Kyuhyun learned the song in like 3 days, which is impossible considering his Chinese is not that great yet.

6) Kyuhyun was very cute. At the end of the show, he said "小心猪流感" (watch out for Swine Flu), which made the entire audience laugh because Eunhyuk just recovered from swine flu.

7) of course, big WELCOME BACK to Eunhyuk!!!! He is better and back in action. Back at KTR today (March 8).

On the fans' side.....

Heechul and Eunhyuk were the most popular two at the Shanghai concert. I've read a few detailed accounts on the concerts. Some say it was great, some said that there weren't many people (not all the seats were filled). From what I read, SJM with Hangeng is experiencing some difficulty. Henry and ZM are not well like over all. If it wasn't for Hangeng, SJM would not have made it as big.
Many fans went to the airport, booked rooms at every single 5-star hotel around the concert hall (so they won't miss which one SJ stayed in), followed them everywhere, ran around in the hotel to find SJ's floor/room, etc.
(Pic of sea of sapphire blue is not from this concert...... I saw some from the Shanghai concert but forgot to save them and now I am too lazy to go find them again).

The day after Super Show II @ Shanghai, Hangeng made an appearance! This time, a public appearance. He went to a Sohu interview. No one knows when the interview will be broadcasted yet. But there are pics. I'm glad that he looks well :)

LOOK FORWARD TO SJ's SUPER SHOW II SHANGHAI!!!!!
This weekend's 2 concerts (Saturday and Sunday) maybe SJ's last concerts! Well, only 10 out of the 13 members will be there, so technically, SJ had their "last" concert along time ago.

L.A. FANS....... LOOK FOR DBSK Uknow Yunho!!
Tomorrow, Friday, March 5th, DBSK's leader, Uknow Yunho, will be closer to me than usual. He will be in L.A., which is ~1800 miles away from where I live. Yunho is coming to LA to train for the THIS IS IT MJ memorial concert, which will be help in Korea on March 27th and 28th. For more information, try AF.

Onto more serious issues.
Korea's Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) is investigation SM and 20+ other entertainment companies (YG, Star, etc.). So far, 19 companies and 230 artists signed unfair contracts that limited artists personal activities. SM and its 53 artists will also be investigated. This wave of investigation was stimulated by Jaejoong/Junsu/Yoochun/Hangeng's case.
My opinion on this entire issue is and has always been that no one forced them to sign the contracts and stars should have more restrictions on their personal lives than other professions. Chinese people say 天下乌鸦一般黑. In English, all crows are equally black. I don't believe one company is better than any other (not significantly anyways). Therefore, it's not just SM who is being unfair. The "rule" of the entertainment circle is unfair. Therefore, since they wanted to be a star, they had to sign it. Honestly, they wanted to sign it! I don't particularly feel bad for the artists. They knew what they were getting into before they signed the paper. Again, no one held a gun to their head and forced them.
As for restrictions on personal life, I believe some is necessary. Once you become a public figure, no part of your life is private. If that's not what you want, don't become a public figure. Being a singer and being a star are two completely different concepts. Two different ranges of skills are required. To be a good singer, all you have to do is sing well. But to be a good celebrity, singing relatively well is only the beginning. It's not easy to portray a perfect image of a star. Companies restrict their artists to help them become the "perfect idol." The definition of a perfect idol, of course, is a social thing. Can't change it in a short period of time.
Overall, I don't want my idols to suffer, but I don't feel terribly sorry for them either.

BREAKOUT

I know that DBSK's Breakout came out more than a month ago, but I did not notice anything strange about the MV of Breakout until today.

Here's the MV of Breakout.

Compare it to Mirotic and other DBSK MV's.

What do you see? rather what do you not see?

There's not a single scene with all 5 DBSK members together in the MV of Breakout!!!!

I compared breakout to mirotic because they have similar messages. breakout is about each person finding a path and reaching tomorrow (something like that). so i get it, each member struggle on their own. But Mirotic is also about escaping traps/constraints/temptations. they all escaped and are all together again in the end.

I have a bad feeling about this. Breaking out of DBSK. I don't know what happened before HOT, SES, etc. disbanded. But i don't like the feel of this at all. Back in January (after the lawsuit was settled) when DBSK performed together, they were in separate dressing rooms and everything. Haha, the significance of this is just hitting me. Oh well, we will see.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

It has been a very peaceful and uneventful week in the DBSJ (DBSK+SJ) world.
Finally, some news worth mentioning.

A-star, a magazine, conducted a survey. The population of the study/survey is its workers. Based on performance, behavior, personal contact, interview, etc. A-star's workers rated K-pop celebrities. The most memorable is........... HERO KIM JAEJOONG! SJ's SIWON got 2nd place. 2PM's Nickhkun is 3rd. SHINee's Taemin and Minho are 4th and 5th respectively. Honestly, most memorable does not = best. lol. Still, congrats to Jaejoong and Siwon. 4 out of 5 are SM artists! doesn't that say something about SM? I think it does :). Surprised that Kim Heechul is not on the list.......

More on Kim Jaejoong. He will be in a Japanese drama. Not as the lead, not sure what type of character. NO official press release about it yet. The title of the drama is Sunao ni narenakute, and it is directed by the same person who directed Heaven's Postman. The drama will start airing in April on Fuji TV.

2pm's problem is growing, but i don't really care. JYP called the police cuz some private info was leaked on the internet........ something like that.

last but not least, SM will not be broadcasting any of their music on Mnet....... ever (well, not sure how long). the announcement was officially made yesterday on SM's website. For example, if u go on Mnet's website now and click on SNSD's OH, you will see "We are currently in the midst of consulting on contract to using this music source. We will work hard to resume the service" (asianfanatics).
Does this have anything to do with Lee Soo Man leaving?
